An active member in Glow is a customer with a non-zero point balance in your loyalty program. Only active members count against your membership limit, while customers with zero points do not.

How Customers Become Active Members

A customer becomes an active member when:

  1. They sign up for an account: Glow automatically creates accounts when a customer enters their email. Learn more about this process here.

  2. They earn points: Customers become active when they earn points through purchases, referrals, or other loyalty activities.

Glow tracks their point balance, and as long as it’s above zero, they are considered active.

Tips to Manage Active Member Counts

  1. Use Klaviyo or Built-in Email Notifications:

    • Leverage Glow’s Klaviyo integration to notify customers about upcoming point expirations or other loyalty updates. Automating these communications can re-engage customers and encourage redemptions, reducing active member counts. Learn how to set up the Klaviyo integration here.

    • If you don’t use Klaviyo, Glow offers built-in email notifications to help you communicate with your customers directly, ensuring you can still manage engagement effectively.
