Pause Glow when you want to temporarily stop customers from earning or redeeming points without uninstalling the app or deleting your loyalty setup.
In Glow, this control is called the Main App Toggle. When the Main App Toggle is off, your loyalty program is disabled until you turn it back on.
Before you pause
Pausing does not delete members, point balances, rewards, VIP tiers, settings, reports, API keys, or webhooks.
Pausing does not uninstall Glow or cancel your Shopify app billing.
Customers may still see any Shopify pages, menus, banners, or theme content you created manually, even though Glow's loyalty widget and customer-facing earning/redeeming features are disabled.
If you only need to turn off one part of your program, such as one earning rule or one reward, disable that feature instead of pausing the whole program.
What happens while Glow is paused
Members cannot earn or redeem points while the Main App Toggle is disabled.
Glow does not award points for new Shopify orders while the account is disabled.
Customers cannot redeem Glow rewards while the account is disabled.
The Glow storefront app embed returns a "do not render" response, so the standard loyalty launcher and widget do not load from the current storefront script.
Scheduled reminder and automatic award jobs that depend on the account being active are skipped.
Existing loyalty data stays in your Glow account so you can review members, rewards, and reports from the merchant dashboard.
Pause the program
In Glow, go to Home.
Click the Pause button in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
Glow switches the account to a disabled state.
Resume the program
In Glow, go back to Home.
Click the Enable or Play button for the Main App Toggle.
After Glow is enabled again, make sure the Widget App Embed Block is also enabled in your published Shopify theme if you want the loyalty widget to show on your storefront.
Common questions
Will customers lose their points?
No. Existing member records, point balances, rewards, VIP tiers, and reports remain in Glow while the program is paused.
Do orders placed while Glow is paused earn points later?
No. Glow does not automatically go back and award points for orders placed while the account was disabled.
Can I still manage my account while the program is paused?
Yes. You can still use the merchant dashboard to review members, rewards, settings, and reports.
Can I pause only one part of my loyalty program?
Use the global pause when you want a full stop. For smaller changes, disable the specific earning rule, reward, referral setting, VIP tier setting, or storefront widget behavior you want to change.
Why is the widget still not showing after I resume?
The Main App Toggle and the Shopify theme app embed work together. After you resume Glow, confirm the Widget App Embed Block is enabled in your published theme.
