Use Members > Bulk Actions when you need to update several existing Glow members at once. Use a support-assisted import when you are migrating customers into Glow from another loyalty program or another platform.
Choose the right workflow
Use in-app bulk actions when the members already exist in Glow and you want to:
Add or subtract the same number of points for selected members.
Set selected members to an exact point balance.
Reset selected members to 0 points.
Include or exclude selected members from the loyalty program.
Delete selected members.
Use CSV Upload (advanced / one-off) when the members already exist in Glow and you have a spreadsheet of point adjustments by email address.
Contact Glow support before a full migration or customer import. The in-app CSV upload is for existing Glow members; it does not create new Shopify customers or import customers who are not already in Glow.
Before you start
Export your members first if you need a backup before changing balances in bulk.
Test with one or two members before updating a large segment.
Use filters carefully. All members matching current filters can include members across multiple pages, not only the rows visible on the current page.
Bulk point changes and CSV uploads do not send customer notification emails.
Point values must be whole numbers. Use positive numbers to add points and negative numbers to subtract points.
Glow skips point updates that would make a member's balance go below 0.
Only one bulk action or CSV upload can process at a time. Wait for the current job to finish before starting another.
Treat bulk delete as permanent from the merchant dashboard. Contact support if you delete members by mistake.
Open Bulk Actions
In Glow, go to Members.
Use search or filters if you want to work with a specific group.
Click Bulk Actions.
Run an in-app bulk action
Choose the Selection:
- Selected members only updates only members you checked. - All filtered members across all pages updates everyone matching the current search and filters.
Review the scope preview before continuing.
Choose the Action.
Enter the point value or loyalty-exclusion setting, if the action needs one.
Click Run Bulk Action.
Watch the processing banner for status, progress, and errors.
What each bulk action does
Add/Subtract points
Adds or removes the same number of points for each member in scope. Use a negative number to subtract points.
Set points to value
Changes each member's current point balance to the exact value you enter.
Reset points to 0
Sets each member's current point balance to 0.
Set loyalty exclusion
Includes or excludes each member from the loyalty program.
Delete members
Deletes the members in scope. Glow asks for extra confirmation before running this action and blocks a bulk delete that would target every member in your account.
Upload a CSV to adjust existing member points
Use the CSV upload area when you already have a spreadsheet of point adjustments for existing Glow members.
Your CSV should include these columns:
email,pointsalex@example.com,50sam@example.com,-20
Important details:
The CSV upload adjusts points. It does not set a final balance.
Each row must match an existing Glow member by email address.
Rows with missing emails, invalid point values, or emails not found in Glow are skipped.
Rows that would subtract more points than a member has are skipped.
Use whole numbers only. Decimals are not accepted.
The upload can include extra columns, but Glow only needs the member email and point adjustment.
After you upload the CSV, Glow starts processing it and shows the same bulk-action progress banner on the Members page.
Import customers from another platform or loyalty app
For a full customer migration, contact Glow support instead of using the in-app CSV upload.
Before you send a migration file:
Make sure the customers exist in Shopify first.
Decide whether existing Glow members should be skipped or updated.
Decide whether the file should set starting balances or add points to existing balances.
Include birthday data only if you want Glow to import it, and ask support to confirm the format.
Review your Glow plan limit if the import will create many active members.
If you are moving customers into Shopify from another platform, import them into Shopify first. Glow needs Shopify customer records for a support-assisted import.
How to confirm the update worked
After the bulk action or CSV upload finishes:
Refresh Members.
Search for one or two members from the update.
Open the member record and confirm the point balance or loyalty-exclusion setting.
Check the member's recent activity for manual adjustment entries when points were changed.
Export members or point activity if you need a spreadsheet record.
Common issues
I see "A bulk action is already in progress"
Wait for the current bulk action or CSV upload to finish. Glow only processes one at a time for your account.
The action says 0 members are selected
Select members with the checkboxes first, or change Selection to All filtered members across all pages after confirming your filters are correct.
My CSV row did not update a member
Confirm the email address belongs to an existing Glow member. The in-app CSV upload does not create new members.
I need to set exact balances from a spreadsheet
Use the in-app Set points to value action for a selected or filtered group, or contact support for a migration-style import. The in-app CSV upload adds or subtracts the point value in each row.
I imported members with 0 points and they are not active
Members with a 0 point balance are not counted as active members. They become active after they earn or receive points.
I need help preparing a migration file
Contact Glow support and explain where the customer list is coming from, whether the customers already exist in Shopify, and how you want existing Glow members handled.
