Glow does not have a separate member approval queue. If you want new members to join your loyalty program but earn 0 points until you approve them, you can use a 0.00 default VIP multiplier and then manually change approved members to 1.00.
This is a manual workaround. Test it before launch, especially if you use signup points, VIP tiers, custom rewards, social rewards, or integrations that award points.
When this setup is a good fit
Use this when you want a private, wholesale, or manually approved loyalty program where new members start at 0x earning.
This is not the best tool for every restriction:
To fully stop a member from earning or redeeming, use loyalty exclusion.
To stop bot or spam customers from joining Glow, use the member creation blocklist.
To block order points by customer tag, use order rules.
To remove existing points, adjust the member's point balance separately.
Set new members to start at 0x
In Glow, go to Settings > Account Settings > Multipliers.
Set Default VIP Multiplier to 0.00. This value is assigned to new Glow members when they are created.
Then review VIP Multiplier Moments. The multiplier only applies to the moments that are checked here, such as Purchase, Signup, Birthday, Anniversary, and Referral.
Select the moments you want to hold at 0 for unapproved members, then click Save Settings.
New members with a 0.00 multiplier and no point balance will not count as active members for plan-count purposes because active members are counted by point balance.
Approve a member
When you are ready to approve a member, go to Members, open the member profile, and find V.I.P. Multiplier.
Change Multiplier from 0.00 to 1.00, then click Save.
After that, the member can earn points for the multiplier moments you selected.
If you want a member to earn more or fewer points than normal, use a different multiplier. For example, 2.00 doubles scoped point awards, while 0.50 awards half points.
Important notes
Changing the default multiplier affects new members only. Existing members keep their current multiplier until you edit them.
A 0.00 multiplier does not remove points a member already has. If a member already has enough points to redeem a reward, use loyalty exclusion or adjust their point balance if you need to prevent redemption.
If you use signup points, be careful. Glow can create the signup point activity at 0 points for an unapproved member. Because signup points are only awarded once, you may need to manually add signup points after you approve the member.
VIP tier multipliers can also affect the final point amount. If you use VIP tiers, test with a real member before launch so unapproved members do not receive unexpected tier-based points.
Some point awards, such as custom rewards, social rewards, manual point adjustments, and certain integration awards, are not controlled by the VIP Multiplier Moments setting. Review those features separately before using this as an approval workflow.
